V2G Demonstrator

The goal was to develop and deliver V2G use cases, ensure O&M of the V2G sites for the duration of the pilot project, define a strategy, and assess the value of V2G.

Context

A utility company requested our support to develop Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capability and manage V2G delivery use cases in a pilot project to showcase and test V2G.
There are currently 6 x V2G chargers installed.
Support needs related with the development, set up, configuration and operation of the V2G chargers were also established.

Challenge

SEL was contracted to:

Implement the pilot V2G use cases applying SEL’s EV management software in two layers
- OCPP low level layer: monitoring and control of V2G chargers
- Use case management layer: implementing client use cases
Guarantee the O&M of the V2G sites, including the routers for monitoring V2G connections, PV and building consumption
